616 Vaporz Cherry Cola E-juice Review

Before I start the juice review I wanted to thank everyone for reading my blog. The numbers have been going through the roof. I have received many requests to start doing youtube videos and I'm going to try and find time this weekend to post one.

I had my heart set on an iTaste VTR, so I was searching the local shops websites when I found a great deal on one. 616Vaporz has the best prices of any brick and mortar shop I've ever seen. Check them out. I was able to find the VTR for $69.99. I might go back and pick up the Panzer for $39.99. After giving them a call to verify they had one in stock I made my way over.

When I arrived at the store I was greeted by a young kid behind the counter and began looking around. I found the iTaste VTR but it was marked $79.99. I asked the guy behind the counter and he said he would sell it to me for the price on the internet. All they had was the camo version which was fine by me.

Since I was saving so much money on my MOD I decided to pick up a random e-juice and give it a try. I walked over to their juice samples and randomly picked one. It was Cherry Cola. I asked the guy for a 10ml bottle of it and he went into the back to make one up. He came out about 10 minutes later with my bottle of juice. On my way out the door he suggested letting it steep for about five days. I always steep my liquids but it's nice to see word getting out about the importance of steeping liquids.

After waiting for the liquid to steep I looked forward to trying out the Cherry Cola liquid. I rewicked my Plume Veil and loaded it up with juice. 616Vaporz uses a stock blend of 60% PG. (40% VG for all you math majors.) The first thing I noticed is the flavor comes through very strong. Some juices provide a throat hit, this juice provides a flavor hit. Not a huge cloud, but I expected that with only 40% VG.
The second thing I noticed was the taste, while stronger than any liquid I've ever tried it was off for me. It was a loud single note. It was like driving by one of those cars with the bass turned up way to high and all you hear is BOOM BOOM BOOM. That is what this juice does every hit. I like a juice that provides layers to the vape. The hidden little notes that you discover while taking the time to enjoy a nice vape. I hate to say it but after an hour I couldn't stand to vape it anymore. That is just me, I'm sure there are people that will enjoy this in your face, simple flavor but I'm not one of them.

In conclusion I give this liquid a 4 out of 10. If you're going to do a flavor junkie PG dominate blend you have to be great at building your flavor profiles. One way to tell a good e-liquid maker from an inexperienced one is to try something like a grape flavor. A good liquid maker will use more than one flavor to make a grape for example to add layers. This makes even a single flavor taste full, balanced, and refreshing. A bad juice maker will add a few drops of grape flavor into his premixed PG/VG blend and call it good. Guess what? It's not. Take the time to build a good juice and you'll have customers for life.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the vape

iTaste VTR Review

I must admit I've been craving the iTaste VTR for a while now and I finally bought it and the expectations were high. I've never owned a box mod before, I've always preferred the mech mods, but this rugged little box mod weighing over a pound had me intrigued and the green color looks great in real life.

When I first took the VTR out of the awesome display box I filled the iclear 30s with GR VAPE Doctor P e-liquid and started vaping away. I've used the iclear on my mech mods in the past and wasn't a big fan of the tight draw and limited vapor production. After playing with the variable wattage on the iTaste VTR I was able get a better draw with a decent cloud.

After I got bored vaping with the iclear 30s I removed it and screwed in the included adapter and put on a random RDA. I built a macro coil that came in at 1.3 ohms and dripped some liquid and tried it out. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of vapor and flavor I got. I had the wattage down at first and got a cooler less dense vape, but it was nice.

The iTaste VTR will let you build an RDA down to a .8 ohm resistance. That gives me the challenge of finding the best flavor coil build I could do at .8 ohms or higher. I spent the next three hours building coils without even noticing. I had some winners and some fails and I'm still not done experimenting. I was happy with a micro parallel coil made of flat wire that measured out at .9 ohms totally cottoned up. With the wider surface area of a parallel coil I was getting great flavor and good vape. My next step is to get out the plume veil rda and really try some crazy stuff and see what works.

All in all this has been a fun mod to play with and I'm obsessed with finding the perfect .8 ohm coil build. I would recommend this to anybody that doesn't mind having a one pound brick in their pocket. I personally like heavy rugged things so it fits my style, but I don't picture many girls lugging this thing around.

Thanks for reading and all comments or questions are welcome,

Nimbus RDA Review

Todays review is long overdue, the first RDA  I ever bought was the Nimbus RDA by EHPro. Tonight I'd like to spend some time talking about it and explaining why I still use it on a fairly regular basis.

When I first started vaping I had my iclear tank and I thought I was happy. Sure with a mech mod  getting smoke from it was like getting money from my wife. Hard to accomplish and when you do it's never very much. Despite the tough draw I was enjoying myself.

One day I found myself in one of my all time favorite vape shops and I was complaining about my lack of flavor and they suggested I try an RDA. I was hesitant because I like to keep things simple and it seemed like coil making would be difficult. The shop owner showed me the Nimbus and said I need to try this. For the price it will work nice and if you hate it your only out 12 bucks. I was strongly consider it and he added that he would show me how to make some coils. I figured I couldn't go wrong and bought it.

The shop owner was kind enough to show me a couple builds starting with a standard dual micro coil build. My first attempt looked like the corkscrew at Cedar Point, but with a little practice I was able to get a nice almost professional looking coil. We hooked it up and I dripped for the first time.

WOW. The flavor was killer. It was like going from a $5.99 sizzler to a Prime Rib at Ruth Chris Steakhouse I thought I enjoyed my iclear but dripping is so much better and I'm starting to become a coil building addict. Thanks to the mentoring of an expert teaching me how to do things the right way. When building coils nothing is more important than finding a good teacher. Sorry for getting on a soapbox but it's important to safe and enjoy the hobby.

I've since moved on to other RDA's like the Tugboat that I have set up to make some killer clouds, but I always have my Nimbus on standby built to maximize flavor, so when I need to take a nice break and relax I grab my Nimbus and my favorite juice and enjoy this for a while. As always thanks for reading and Vape Nice,

Puffin Liquids Kahluamel Review

I was running errands recently came across a new Vape Shop in Grand Rapids Michigan. GRVAPE officially opened their storefront on August 8th and since I love to stop and compare and contrast all the local shops I pulled in the parking lot to check it out. I walked in the shop and was blown away by the cleanliness of the shop. If you do your shop in almost all white and it looks clean you know your doing it right. I was hoping the owner would be as professional as his shop looked.

I've been on a roll recently finding good liquids and I was hopeful that trend would continue. I had my wife with me and we both wanted to try some juice. We were greeted by a guy behind the juice bar, so we walked over and sat down. The guy behind the bar was the owner and he took the time to ask about our tastes and what we liked and made a couple recommendations of  the brand of liquids that he created himself that he named Puffin Liquids. He asked if we wanted to try them out. I know every shop lets you try flavors, but in Grand Rapids the shops let you try those flavors on a cheap starter kit with a half charged battery. That is not how they do business at GRVAPE. He hands my wife and I, if I remember right, it was something like an EVO Twist with a iclear tank. By no means the best gear on the market but their effort was noticed and with it turned up a little and with a fully charged battery, I was actually able to taste a juice before I bought it and used it on my mod. After trying a few flavors and having a nice conversation with the owner I decided on the Kahluamel and my wife went with the CafĂ© Luha.

My wife and I got home and we watched a little TV and relaxed, trying our new liquids. I normally steep my liquids to get better flavor, but this time I was to excited to wait so I used it as soon as I got home. Let me tell you, my hot streak is alive and getting better. The taste was spot on, it was like being in a flavor tornado with notes of well balanced flavor swirling around inside my mouth. This is the reason I quit smoking cigarettes, so my taste buds can enjoy flavors like this again. The throat hit was barely there and the smoke was great and smelled as good as it tasted. After a couple hours of bliss I asked my wife who is a very light vapor what she thought. She looked at her half empty iclear30s tank and says I don't know it seems to not last very long. I just laughed at her and explained to her that for the last two hours she hadn't said a single word but just sat there and vaped. (First silence in over ten years of marriage by the way.) She agrees and says I guess your right. "Can we go get more?"

For her of course we went and got more. I look forward to having the Puffin Liquids in my everyday rotation as they are made using above average ingredients by an above average artist. Thanks for reading and I look forward to your comments and questions. Vape Nice,

Review Joost Vapors Caramel Candy E-liquid

A while back I purchased a Caramel Candy e-liquid from Joost Vapor and absolutely loved it. I went back a few days later and bought a bigger bottle. Since it's what I'm vaping today I decided to give it a review.

I must admit I love Caramel and was the original reason that I bought this liquid. If I remember right Joost Vapor e-liquids is 38% VG in their standard blend. I recommend letting this juice steep for a good five days before using. This allows the caramel flavor to disperse throughout the bottle.

Taste - The flavor of this e-liquid is bold at first and then mellows to a nice full finish. I wouldn't be surprised if their was a few drops of vanilla in this blend to round out the rough edges. This has become my flavor of choice when working all day on the computer.

Throat Hit - I get very little throat hit from this liquid. Using my Sentinel M16 I can usually get a decent throat hit, but this blend is just too polite to hit your throat. It's more of a throat massage than a hit.

Vapor - I get nice vape from this blend, which is what I would expect. I can take a nice hit and not make it look like Cheech and Chong's car. Again this is designed for an all day vape experience.

Overall - This has to be one of my favorite juices and at $13.99 for a 30ml bottle it works out to $0.47 a ml. A very fair price for such a good quality blend. I would recommend it to anybody that's a fan of coffee e-liquids or somebody wanting a good all day vape.

Thanks for reading and Vape Away,

Review Mister E-liquid Jade Tiger

I was looking for a new liquid to try and made my way to Mister E-liquid to see what I could find. Mister E-liquid does a lot of online sales but it's a place you have to see to believe. Their clean room is something to behold. It makes hospitals look as clean as a pay by the hour motel. As someone that is majoring in Chemical Engineering I have yet to find a lab that is as clean and organized as Mister E-liquids clean room. If your ever in Grand Rapids stop in and check it out.

After looking around and sampling a few flavors I decided on the MEL exclusive Jade Tiger. I bought their stock blend in a 10ml bottle. Mister E-liquid describes the Jade Tiger as Jade Tiger is a delicious blend of Watermelon, Strawberry, Pineapple, and a hint of coconut (barely detectable).  This is a brand new Juice from MEL and we are proud to have created Jade Tiger!  It really is a wonderful flavor. This juice will speak for itself.

I recommend steeping your liquids. Steeping time varies by type of liquid and I will cover that in a later post. This liquid I let steep for two days before trying. For this review I used my Grand Vapor Sentinel M-16 with a Nimbus RDA. I used a regular micro dual coil design with cotton for the wick. I tried to make it just a standard dripping design that most people use. I purchased the liquid in their standard formula which is 33% VG. I'm a flavor fan and when I'm vaping at home I don't go cloud chasing so this is a great everyday blend.

FLAVOR - When using this liquid the flavor is strong and well balanced. The formula wasn't just thrown together, but instead carefully crafted to give a good balance. The pineapple flavor shines and the coconut is more present than the description says creating a mellow flavor. This isn't a chain vape kind of flavor, Jade Tiger is a slow savor type of liquid, taking the time to experience all the notes that come through in the liquid.

THROAT HIT- The Jade Tiger does give a little of a throat hit, but not to the point that is causing you to cough. Instead it's the kind of throat hit that let's you know your smoking and not just sucking in air. I tend to enjoy this type of sensation.

SMOKE - Jade Tiger has decent smoke but no where close to a dense cloud. It's also not designed to give you huge amounts of smoke. It's because of the relatively low amount of VG. If you are consistently looking for huge clouds just increase the amount of VG and your good to go.

OVERALL- Overall Jade Tiger is nice juice to take some time out and chill for awhile taking the time to enjoy some great flavor. In my opinion this is not a chain vape kind of juice, it reminds me more of the Corona Beer commercials of people just relaxing on the beach. That's what I think of when I smoke this juice. The only other comment I can make is how long lasting this juice is when I drip. I get an extra four to five hits when using this liquid. Which makes it a great value as well.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the smoke,

Ace Vapor

Review Rules

I just wanted to post some rules I have for myself when doing reviews. I don't work or am I affiliated with any company that creates or sells vapor liquid or supplies. If I get a free sample from a company like Mister E or Innokin I will include a full disclosure with the review to make sure the reviews are on the up and up.

If you would like me to review one of your items feel free to contact me for a shipping address. Also please include any specs or other information you want included in the review.

I look forward to all feedback on my reviews. I love interaction no matter if it's positive or negative. There are so many items and liquid on the market it's hard to decide what to review. If you have a suggestion feel free to let me know and I'll move it up the list and get a review done.

As always thanks for reading and enjoy the smoke,

My vaping story

I discovered vaping the same way as many others, I wanted to find a way to quit smoking. I was tired of the evil looks from people when they discovered I smoked. I was sick of paying all the taxes associated with smoking and honestly I was sick of smoking and needed to find a way to quit.

A couple years ago, I went to my local gas station and bought a $9.99 e-cig kit that looked and felt like a cigarette. I charged it on my computer ready to experience the future. It was horrible no taste, no smoke, no enjoyment. All I could think was this e-cig thing is never going to catch on.

At the start of this year I noticed vape shops opening up all over my hometown of Grand Rapids. Maybe something different has come out making e-cigarettes better I thought to myself. I stopped in a local shop named Joost Vaper and was surprised to see all the different styles and flavors that were now available.  The recommended that I start with a inexpensive kit and move up if I enjoy it. Twenty dollars later I was ready to try again. While not perfect I could see potential and I used it for about a week and cut my cigarette intake in half. After breaking it at work in a slight mishap. (It went through an industrial grinder.) I was in the market for something new.

I wanted something durable that could take a beating. I spent my hard earned money on a Sentinel M16 mechanical mod with an iclear 30S tank. I fell in love with the M16 it was incredible. (It's not without flaws and I'll review the M16 later and talk about it in depth.) I wasn't as big of a fan of the iclear 30s. (Also a future review.) I still use my iclear 30s in certain situations with great results, and I managed to quit smoking cigarettes all together.

I recently tried my first RDA and I'm having a blast with it and I'm enjoying dripping a lot more than I ever thought I would. With all the different coil designs and wick options it's a virtual playground for me and my experimental mind.

Please join me as I continue to experiment and review all thing vaping. I'm always available to answer questions and I love feedback as we push the limits in search of the perfect smoke. Thanks for reading,
